OpusChat uses Google Play Services on Android devices for notifications (including call alerts), enhanced location services (Google Maps and providing the devices's location accurately) and account recovery using Google.

OpusChat will continue to function on devices without Google Play Services. However, the device will not receive notifications and call alerts. Bing Maps will used instead of Google Maps, with less accurate location for the device. For account recovery, Google will not be available, but Facebook/ Email/ Phone number will still be available.

For the best experience, it is highly recommended that OpusChat is run on devices with it.

**Remarks: Some devices that are not originally equipped with Google Play services may still not be able to receive push notifications for incoming messages and calls after self-installation.
