There are two options for deleting messages:

1. Delete messages for everyone
2. Delete the messages just for yourself

Delete messages for everyone
You can delete any specific messages for everyone you have recently sent for one-to-one or group chats within an hour. When the messages are deleted for everyone, “You deleted this message.” will be shown at the messages which are successfully deleted.

1. Go to the chat containing the message you want to delete
2. Tap and hold on a message
3. Select the message you sent (You can select multiple messages)
4. Tap > Delete message for everyone

Note:

• Your recipients have to use the latest version of OpusChat. However, for the messages you sent in group chat, if the recipients are using an old version of OpusChat, the messages might not be deleted successfully on their devices.
• If your recipients have already saved the media to their devices, even after you delete the messages, the media files will stay on their devices.
• Recipients might have already seen the messages before you delete them.

Delete messages for me
Deleting messages allows you to delete your copy of messages you have sent or received on your device. However, your recipients will still see the messages on their chats screens.

1. Go to the chat containing the message you want to delete
2. Tap and hold on a message
3. Select the message you want to delete (You can select multiple messages)
4. Tap > Delete message for me
